A special week to discover and pray for this IFES region

We asked students from countries across the IFES Latin America region to share what student life is like for them, as well as some of the encouragements and challenges they face. This week’s focus on the region is for them and for the students on their campuses who don’t yet know Jesus. It’s also for the society they will go on to impact after they graduate. Please join us in praying this week.

Two of the major societal problems affecting the lives of students in the region today are corruption and the environment. Both issues offer opportunities for students to demonstrate and share the gospel with those around them.

Each day this week we’ll be focusing on different countries in the Latin America region. You can read student stories and find out how to pray for them on our Facebook page or on Instagram. For a map of the region to print out and more information to help you pray, read this introduction to Latin America.

Please pray:

  • Pray for the student leaders of the 1000 small groups in Latin America, meeting each week to study the Bible and pray together.
  • Pray for these student leaders to be equipped effectively through training conferences happening in 2018, and for more workers to disciple these student leaders.
  • Pray for pioneering work to reach more than 40 new universities in the region in the next two years.
  • Pray for good governance and self-sustainability of the national movements.
  • Pray for renewed passion for mission and evangelism.
  • Pray for Christian students to be living authentic, gospel-shaped lives in a society of corruption and environmental decline.
  • This year marks the 60th anniversary of IFES student work in Latin America. Give thanks to God for all he has done in this region, and pray for the ongoing advance of the gospel.
