GIVING FAQS FOR DONORS

We have recently updated our online giving system. There have been some changes to how you make gifts, access, and update your account. We hope these Giving FAQs help you navigate the system.

From account questions to monthly gift changes to US tax receipts and UK Gift Aid, we hope you’ll find the answers to any questions you may have about giving to IFES.

How do I create an account?

When you make your first gift, our system will automatically create an account for you once the gift has been made. You will then be able to edit your profile information and view your giving history here: https://ifes.beaconforms.com/form/a23f33c0

I have an existing account, but I can’t remember my password

To access your account, you no longer need a password. You will then be sent a one-time secure link via email to access your account. To access your profile and giving history, please click on ‘Giving Account’ in the top right hand corner of our website or go to this link: https://ifes.beaconforms.com/form/a23f33c0

Can I see my giving history?

If you want to see your giving or donation history, you can do so via your IFES Giving Account or via this link: https://ifes.beaconforms.com/form/a23f33c0 and a one-time link will be sent to your inbox.

The following links take you to a portal to ‘Manage recurring gifts’. You will then be sent a one-time secure link via email to access your account.

I want to change the amount I give each month.

You will need access the portal to ‘Manage recurring gifts’ using the appropriate link:

Select the recurring gift you want to change, click on ‘Edit Payment Details, update with the new amount and click on the ‘Confirm’ button. The new amount will take effect when the the next instalment is made.

I want to change the day that I give.

You will need access the portal to ‘Manage recurring gifts’ using the appropriate link:

Select the recurring gift you want to change, click on ‘Edit Payment Details, update with the new payment day and click on the ‘Confirm’ button. The next upcoming instalment will be taken on the new payment day you have set.

I want to change my payment method.

You will need access the portal to ‘Manage recurring gifts’ using the appropriate link:

Select the recurring gift you want to change, click on ‘Edit Payment Details, update with the new payment method and click on the ‘Confirm’ button. The next upcoming instalment will be taken using the new payment method you have set.

I want to cancel my recurring gift.

You will need access the portal to ‘Manage recurring gifts’ using the appropriate link:

Select the recurring gift you want to change and click on the ‘CANCEL RECURRING DONATION’ button at the bottom of that page. A prompt will appear asking you to confirm whether you would like to cancel the recurring donation or just change the amount. Click on ‘Just cancel my donation’ and then the ‘Confirm’ button. Your selected recurring gift is now cancelled.

I made a one-time gift but meant it to be monthly.

You will have to set up a new gift as a monthly gift by clicking on the ‘Monthly’ selector. If you would like us to refund the one-time gift to you, please contact us.

I mistakenly filled out a monthly gift, but I wanted to make a one-time gift. Do I need to fill out all the information again?

Yes, you will have to fill in again using the ‘Give Once’ selector. If you would like us to cancel and refund the monthly gift, please contact us. You may also cancel the monthly gift using the ‘Manage recurring gifts’ portal:

I forgot to add Gift Aid to my donation. Is it possible to add this?

Yes! Please contact supporter.relations@ifesworld.org. We will check your Gift Aid status in our records. If you do not have an up-to-date Gift Aid Declaration, we will email you a Declaration which you can complete and return to us by email.

I need to change my Gift Aid information. How do I do this?

Please contact supporter.relations@ifesworld.org to let us know your new address, changed tax status, or to request a new Gift Aid Declaration.

Are you collecting Gift Aid on my gifts?

You can see in your giving history whether gifts have been Gift Aided, or contact supporter.relations@ifesworld.orgsupporter.relations@ifesworld.org to ask.

I need to know what my gifts were to IFES in the past year.

You can request a Certificate of Charitable Giving for a particular tax year by emailing supporter.relations@ifesworld.org.

How do I get a copy of a tax receipt?

My card has been declined, has my payment gone through?

If your card has been declined, your payment hasn’t gone through. If you try again and are still experiencing the same issue, please contact us for further assistance.

Are there other ways to give?

You can use our website to make one-time or monthly gifts using a debit/credit card , ACH direct debit (US-only), BACS direct debit (UK-only), SEPA direct debit (EU-only), Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and Venmo (US-only). If you wish to make a bank transfer or set up a standing order, please contact us.

How can I give so IFES doesn’t have to pay bank charges?

When you make a gift, select the amount you want to donate and then check the box saying ‘Cover transaction costs’.

What does this optional ‘Cover transaction costs’ mean?

Transaction costs refer to the combined fees of the bank or card processor and our giving platform. Bank or card processor charges range from 1.5% to 3%, while the giving platform charges 3%. By including transaction costs when making a gift, an additional 4.5% to 6% will be added to your total gift amount, helping IFES to cover these fees.

Why can’t I see the designation of my donation in the confirmation email and when managing my recurring donation?

Unfortunately, our giving platform does not allow us to include this information in the confirmation email or when managing your recurring donation at this time. We are working with our giving platform provider to add this in future. However, we will send you a thank you (all donors except US donors) or a receipt (US donors only) within the next few days containing the full designation information. Additionally, you will be able to see the designation in your giving history, which can be accessed via your IFES Giving Account. It should be visible there in a few business days after you have made your donation.

You may not be able to see notes or special designations on that page, but donations will be marked in our system with what you submitted, and any such instructions will be passed to the relevant staff member or movement. Should there be any error, or any further designation information you wish to add, please contact us and we would be happy to assist.
