Strategies for Landscape Recomposition

This document contains the slide presentations for a series of three workshops given in 2023 by architecture scholar Johnny Muhindo Ngunza. Ngunza explores the notion of peri-urbanity and explains the ecological challenges facing Africa’s expanding peri-urban territories. He proposes a hybrid response that draws on African cultural resources and the Bible’s cultural mandate. To invite concrete action, he shares the inspiring example of the erosion-resistant gardens from his LCI project. This resource is part of the IFES Logos and Cosmos Initiative Resource Library. It is a translation of the French original, also available in the Library.
