Global Giving Day 2025
THE WORK OF HIS HANDS • 2 APRIL 2025
Thank you for taking part in Global Giving Day: The Work of His Hands.
Thanks to the vision and generosity of 403 supporters, staff, and students from 103 countries and territories, $113,129 USD has been raised for the formation of godly leaders.
Praise God! Due to a generous matching fund, that’s $223,129 USD for leadership initiatives across IFES.
Although the event is now over, it’s not too late to take part.
Our world needs leaders shaped by God.
University students will be the leaders of tomorrow, shaping people and culture. But who is shaping them?
You know a God who can put his hand on our easily misshapen lives and form us into beautiful vessels fit for service.
Here is our hope: leaders shaped by the Potter – each one crafted for context, yet all wholeheartedly acting with integrity, resolutely serving the interests of others, and prayerfully relying on him. In a world desperate for solid leadership, realising this vision is as urgent as ever.
You, Lord, are our Father.
We are the clay, you are the potter;
we are all the work of your hand.
ISAIAH 64:8
Through Global Giving Day, you can partner with God by helping to shape an array of well-formed leaders – the work of his hands.

📣Here’s an announcement worth listening to!
We asked you what kind of leaders you’d like God to shape. In over 100 responses, here’s what you said:

THE DIFFERENCE YOU CAN MAKE
Through your support for IFES, you’re participating in God’s shaping of leaders around the world: students, staff, and graduates.

Regional training events for staff from national movements

Graduate ministry

Spiritual formation programs for student leaders in a region or sub-region

Global mentoring networks for staff with strategic potential
A godly character clearly matters.
Meet five leaders whose character has been formed through IFES leadership initiatives.
WISDOM: Gisela
COURAGE: Preeti
VISION: Frank
EMPATHY: Amine
Show your support for IFES students, staff, and graduates in leadership roles.
Your generosity will shape them – through experienced mentors, biblical reflection on leadership, and supportive networks.
As you join with God in moulding these leaders, they’ll shape campuses, churches, and societies for generations to come.
But it must start today.
Act on your faithful longing for well-formed leaders: give so that student, staff, and graduate leaders across IFES can become the masterly work of God’s hands – and shape people and culture for good.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE TOGETHER
Global Giving Day is an annual 48-hour event spanning the entire globe.
Students, staff, and supporters like you join in the joy of giving to God’s work on campuses around the world.

This year, we’re hoping to see support from at least 100 countries and territories to fund leadership development across all 11 IFES regions.
While we have been living through difficult times in our country for the past decade, we have chosen as our annual theme for 2024, “Resilience and Mission”, studying 1 and 2 Corinthians. In this biblical and contextual journey, we are encouraged by the example of the Macedonian church in 2 Corinthians 8. We pray that the Lord will grant us to always dedicate ourselves to Him, and that by His grace we may always with joy and liberality take part in missionary assistance, no matter what circumstances we find ourselves in.

Organising Events
In some cultures, sponsored challenges, auctions, sales, and entry-fee events are an effective way of getting others involved in giving. They are often even more engaging when they’re related to the theme of the appeal.
For example:
- Create, decorate, and sell clay pots.
- Organize a sponsored competition in which teams tackle “leadership challenges” such as topical debates, problem-solving, and trust exercises.
Host a ticketed Q&A event with key leaders at your university or church.
Are you planning to organise an event as a national movement? Why not schedule it in advance of 2 April 2025? Then, you can transfer the funds you’ve raised in time for Global Giving Day. Get in touch with finance@ifesworld.org to discuss how and when to make the transfer.

Pray
God is the master Potter! So, let’s pray for his gracious hand on Global Giving Day.
Here’s a prayer using the imagery and themes of Isaiah 64:
Lord, we need you!
Can you break through,
Come down among us?
Save us from this leadership wasteland:
Presidents, ministers, CEOs, pastors,
Ruined by greed and ego.
But it’s easy to point the finger,
When the poison’s also in us:
Pride dirties the good we do,
Selfish desires blow us off course,
Self-reliance diverts our gaze from you.
Potter God, point us to your fingers,
To your firm and gentle hands:
Remould us – hold us, shape us, form us.
Press out our misshapen motives.
Smooth our uneven thoughts.
Take control of our muddy lives.
Rejuvenate the leadership wasteland:
Presidents, ministers, CEOs, pastors,
Serving with love and humility.
For you came down among us.
You tore the curtain and broke through;
So, craft us – in the image of Christ.
Pray for IFES students, staff, and graduates in leadership roles:
- Pray for students who are leading campus groups each week – that as they prepare Bible studies and outreach events, the Lord will guide them, equip them, and work through them.
- Pray for staff in national movement leadership roles – that they will be Christlike role models for staff and students, full of grace and truth.
- Pray for graduates who are now leaders in businesses, medicine, politics, arts, and industry – that they will remain true to their Lord, serving him and others with integrity, courage, and kindness.
