Avec un exemple \u00e0\u00a0l\u2019appui.<\/h4>\n<p>Pensez au texte du Sermon sur la Montagne, o\u00f9 J\u00e9sus pr\u00eache, \u00ab\u00a0Vous \u00eates la lumi\u00e8re du monde et le sel de la terre.\u00a0\u00bb [1] Et bien, moi (John Jusu) j\u2019ai parl\u00e9 \u00e0 un th\u00e9ologien de la r\u00e9gion d\u2019Afrique australe. Et il a expliqu\u00e9 que les commentaires occidentaux \u00e0 ce sujet ne faisaient pas sens pour lui. Ces commentaires expliquent que le sel conserve et rel\u00e8ve le go\u00fbt. Il m\u2019a cependant dit que pour lui, la lumi\u00e8re donne la direction et montre notre chemin, et donc le sel devrait suivre cette m\u00e9taphore et \u00e9galement donner la direction. Je lui ai demand\u00e9 de s\u2019expliquer. Et il m\u2019a donc racont\u00e9 une histoire\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0Dans mon village, lorsqu\u2019il y a une s\u00e9cheresse, les singes savent o\u00f9 se trouve l\u2019eau. Mais ils ne conduisent pas les humains vers l\u2019eau. Donc, les gens pi\u00e8gent un singe et l\u2019attachent. Puis, ils lui donnent du sel. Apr\u00e8s un jour ou deux, le singe a tr\u00e8s soif. A ce moment-l\u00e0, les humains l\u00e2chent le singe. Puis le singe se moque de savoir si des \u00eatres humains le suivent ou pas\u00a0; il ira directement \u00e0 la source d\u2019eau pour \u00e9tancher sa soif\u00a0\u00bb. Voici la le\u00e7on\u00a0: si ton christianisme ne donne pas soif d\u2019eau vive aux gens, alors il ne vaut rien.<\/p>\n<h4>Comment est n\u00e9e la Africa Study Bible\u00a0?<\/h4>\n<p>En 2005, apr\u00e8s dix ans de travail en Afrique, notre leadership \u00e0 Oasis International \u00e9tait convaincu qu\u2019il y avait un grand besoin de Bibles qui correspondent au contexte africain, en amenant la puissance des \u00c9critures au continent d\u2019une mani\u00e8re qui soit fra\u00eeche et pertinente culturellement. Au cours des ann\u00e9es qui ont suivi, nous avons explor\u00e9 un certain nombre d\u2019options avec des grandes maisons d\u2019\u00e9dition bibliques. Finalement, notre conseil d\u2019administration a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 d\u2019entreprendre un projet cl\u00e9 de Bible d\u2019\u00e9tude qui allait finalement s\u2019appeler la <em>Africa Study Bible<\/em> (Bible d\u2019\u00e9tude africaine). En 2011, des leaders de l\u2019Afrique anglophone, francophone et lusophone de tout le continent, se sont r\u00e9unis \u00e0 Accra au Ghana pour former la vision finale. Ils ont formul\u00e9 le contenu et ses caract\u00e9ristiques ainsi que l\u2019accent mis sur le discipulat et l\u2019application. Sous la direction de Dr John Jusu et notre comit\u00e9 \u00e9ditorial, une avant-premi\u00e8re dans la forme de l\u2019\u00c9vangile de Jean a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9e en 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Pour les deux ann\u00e9es qui ont suivi, une petite \u00e9quipe s\u2019est concentr\u00e9e sur la formation de l\u2019\u00e9quipe de r\u00e9daction. Et en 2014, alors que la r\u00e9daction a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 affluer, l\u2019\u00e9quipe de traduction, de r\u00e9vision et d\u2019\u00e9dition a grandi et a finalement d\u00e9pass\u00e9 le nombre de trente, la plupart des gens \u00e9tant \u00e0 temps partiel. Notre \u00e9quipe de r\u00e9daction pour finir a inclus plus de 350 personnes de cinquante pays. Nous sommes sur le point de publier la Bible en anglais d\u00e9but 2017. Elle comprendra une application de la Bible compl\u00e8te, l\u2019\u00c9vangile de Jean \u00e9tant d\u00e9j\u00e0 disponible sur iOS et Android.<\/p>\n<h4>Qu\u2019est-ce qui a motiv\u00e9 le d\u00e9veloppement d\u2019une Bible d\u2019\u00e9tude pour l\u2019Afrique\u00a0?<\/h4>\n<p>Plus de quatre cent millions de chr\u00e9tiens protestants en Afrique n\u2019ont pas de Bible \u00e9crite qui r\u00e9ponde aux besoins de leur propre culture. D\u00e9courag\u00e9s par le manque de voix africaine dans les commentaires bibliques et dans les Bibles d\u2019\u00e9tude, de nombreux responsables africains ont affirm\u00e9 que les temps sont m\u00fbrs pour que les Africains am\u00e8nent leurs propres r\u00e9flexions et compr\u00e9hension de la Bible \u00e0 leur continent et au monde.<\/p>\n<p>Les gens ne grandissent pas parce qu\u2019ils ne sont pas en mesure de venir directement \u00e0 la fontaine et de boire. La Bible ressemble \u00e0 quelque chose qu\u2019ils ne peuvent comprendre parce qu\u2019elle leur est expliqu\u00e9e dans une langue et un contexte qui ne correspondent pas \u00e0 leur quotidien. C\u2019est pourquoi la <em>Africa Study Bible<\/em> s\u2019av\u00e8re si n\u00e9cessaire. Cette Bible sera la premi\u00e8re Bible d\u2019\u00e9tude qui pr\u00e9sente des pasteurs et des chercheurs africains \u00e9crivant pour l\u2019exp\u00e9rience africaine. Des proverbes africains, des r\u00e9cits, l\u2019histoire et leur compr\u00e9hension sont inclus dans les notes pour enseigner aux gens comment mettre en pratique la Bible dans leur propre contexte, plut\u00f4t que de prendre la mani\u00e8re dont un livre occidental ou un enseignant occidental applique la Bible \u00e0 leur contexte. R\u00e9pondre aux besoins de communiquer la v\u00e9rit\u00e9 de Dieu d\u2019une mani\u00e8re plus efficace et pertinente \u00e0 leur culture, \u00e9tait dans l\u2019esprit des \u00e9diteurs d\u00e8s le d\u00e9part.<\/p>\n<h4>Puisque l\u2019Afrique est un continent si grand et vari\u00e9, qu\u2019est-ce qui d\u00e9finit une mani\u00e8re africaine de lire la Bible\u00a0?<\/h4>\n<p>L\u2019Afrique est un continent plut\u00f4t vari\u00e9 mais il y a des similitudes, des enjeux communs et un tronc culturel commun qui font que les Africains sont v\u00e9ritablement africains. Nos processus de socialisation sont souvent semblables et l\u2019\u00e9thique globale de nos valeurs communautaires unique. La lecture de la Bible en tant qu\u2019histoire et la responsabilit\u00e9 traditionnelle de transmettre notre sagesse, dans ce cas notre h\u00e9ritage chr\u00e9tien, est une id\u00e9e partag\u00e9e. La mani\u00e8re dont nous transmettons cet h\u00e9ritage\u200a\u2014\u200adans la forme de r\u00e9cits, de proverbes et d\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nements de la vraie vie\u200a\u2014\u200aest un autre fil conducteur \u00e0 travers l\u2019Afrique. La lecture des grands r\u00e9cits et le fait de les raconter toujours \u00e0 nouveau, d\u00e9finit notre approche de la lecture de la Bible. Nous pourrions poursuivre sur des probl\u00e8mes semblables, la crise, le colonialisme et m\u00eame les crises de sant\u00e9 qui g\u00e9n\u00e8rent des besoins et des perspectives communs sur la souffrance. Au milieu de notre diversit\u00e9, il y a une base commune qui fait de nous des membres de notre nation et des membres de l\u2019Afrique. La <em>Africa Study Bible<\/em> tente de parler avec cette voix.<\/p>\n<h4>Une Bible d\u2019\u00e9tude africaine \u00e9crite en arabe, en fran\u00e7ais, en haoussa ou en yoruba serait-elle tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rente de cette Bible d\u2019\u00e9tude en anglais\u00a0?<\/h4>\n<p>Environ la moiti\u00e9 des notes de la <em>Africa Study Bible<\/em> ont \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9crites en fran\u00e7ais, en arabe, en amharique et en portugais puis traduites en anglais. Cette Bible n\u2019est donc pas \u00ab\u00a0\u00e9crite\u00a0\u00bb en anglais. Avec des auteurs de plus de 50 pays, vous pouvez dire, \u00e0 juste titre, que cette Bible d\u2019\u00e9tude a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9crite en arabe, en fran\u00e7ais, en haoussa et en yoruba. Le travail de l\u2019\u00e9diteur \u00e9tait de prendre cette diversit\u00e9 et de s\u2019assurer qu\u2019il utilisait une langue commune qui pouvait \u00eatre comprise par tous.<\/p>\n<h4>Seriez-vous d\u2019avis que nous lisons toujours la Bible dans un contexte\u00a0? Si c\u2019est le cas, serait-il pr\u00e9f\u00e9rable que d\u2019autres Bible d\u2019\u00e9tude nomment leur contexte, qui est souvent l\u2019Atlantique Nord\u00a0?<\/h4>\n<p>En g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, les mots sont compris dans un contexte car une chose dans un endroit peut signifier quelque chose de tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rent dans un autre contexte. Nous devons donc \u00eatre sensible au contexte. Cela ne s\u2019applique pas qu\u2019\u00e0 la Bible mais \u00e0 toutes formes de communication. Vous pouvez mieux comprendre ce que dit une personne si vous comprenez le contexte dans lequel elle s\u2019exprime. Prenons un exemple\u00a0: dans certaines cultures, lire que J\u00e9sus a mang\u00e9 avec ses disciples parle \u00e9norm\u00e9ment de l\u2019humilit\u00e9 de J\u00e9sus, davantage m\u00eame que le lavement des pieds des disciples parce que le lavement des pieds n\u2019est pas un \u00e9v\u00e9nement culturellement compris dans ces contextes. Il est donc toujours bon de comprendre le contexte culturel d\u2019une communication pour \u00eatre \u00e0 m\u00eame d\u2019appr\u00e9cier ce qui se passe. Ainsi, la <em>Africa Study Bible<\/em> a pour objectif \u00e0 la fois de contraster et de comparer les cultures biblique et africaine pour nous aider \u00e0 mieux comprendre la Bible. Pour d\u2019autres Bibles d\u2019\u00e9tude, il y a une influence culturelle mais la plupart de ces ressources bibliques cherchent le sens du texte et n\u2019appliquent pas le texte. Le sens d\u2019un mot grec est le m\u00eame dans le monde entier. Mais la <em>Africa Study Bible<\/em> se penche sur l\u2019application de la v\u00e9rit\u00e9 \u00e0 une culture sp\u00e9cifique et elle est donc diff\u00e9rente de la plupart des Bibles d\u2019\u00e9tude. Ainsi, une Bible d\u2019\u00e9tude devrait \u00eatre nomm\u00e9e en fonction de son objectif et non de sa culture. Dans notre cas, l\u2019objectif est d\u2019appliquer la v\u00e9rit\u00e9 et de la rendre compr\u00e9hensible pour l\u2019Afrique et pour le monde \u00e0 travers le regard africain.<\/p>\n<h4>Quelle est votre compr\u00e9hension de l\u2019herm\u00e9neutique biblique ou de la mani\u00e8re dont nous interpr\u00e9tons et appliquons la Bible\u00a0?<\/h4>\n<p>La parole de Dieu est divine, elle fait autorit\u00e9 et elle est \u00e9ternellement vraie. N\u00e9anmoins, notre interpr\u00e9tation de cette v\u00e9rit\u00e9, notre herm\u00e9neutique, peut \u00eatre imparfaite parce que nous sommes des p\u00e9cheurs sauv\u00e9s par gr\u00e2ce. Nous devons remarquer que, bien que certaines de ces premi\u00e8res m\u00e9thodes aient \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es par des Africains, dans les temps modernes les principes et les th\u00e9ories d\u2019herm\u00e9neutique ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s dans un milieu et un contexte culturels qui ne sont pas africains. Nous avons re\u00e7u ces traditions qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 promues dans les \u00e9coles bibliques et cela nous a grandement aid\u00e9s \u00e0 comprendre la Bible. Mais l\u2019Afrique est maintenant majeure et nous pouvons commencer \u00e0 r\u00e9examiner ces cadres d\u2019interpr\u00e9tation th\u00e9orique en vue, \u00e0 la fois, de croire dans la puissance de la Parole de Dieu et d\u2019\u00eatre africain. Nous avons besoin d\u2019apprendre de la m\u00e9thode historico-critique occidentale mais nous devons aussi davantage int\u00e9grer notre compr\u00e9hension des choses comme le r\u00e9cit, les anc\u00eatres et la sagesse. Un exemple notable de cela peut \u00eatre notre approche de la souffrance. En Occident, ils luttent avec la question \u00ab\u00a0Pourquoi souffrons-nous\u00a0?\u00a0\u00bb. En Afrique nous voulons savoir \u00ab\u00a0Comment bien souffrir\u00a0?\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<h4>O\u00f9 situerez-vous l\u2019approche de la Africa Study Bible parmi les mouvements d\u2019herm\u00e9neutique biblique, \u00e0 savoir la critique f\u00e9ministe, post-coloniale, rh\u00e9torique, narrative, structuraliste, post structuraliste, socioscientifique ou canonique de la Bible\u00a0?<\/h4>\n<p>Devrait-elle rentrer dans l\u2019une de ces cat\u00e9gories\u00a0? Chacune d\u2019elle est un fragment ou une perspective de la compr\u00e9hension de la v\u00e9rit\u00e9, un fragment tr\u00e8s \u00e9troit de cette compr\u00e9hension\u00a0! Cette approche taxonomique de la compr\u00e9hension de la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 concerne moins l\u2019int\u00e9gration et davantage la recherche de la v\u00e9rit\u00e9 pour votre groupe ou votre int\u00e9r\u00eat social. Curieusement, les auteurs et les \u00e9diteurs de la <em>Africa Study Bible<\/em> viennent de toutes ces traditions et ces \u00e9diteurs ont essay\u00e9 autant que possible d\u2019int\u00e9grer leurs pens\u00e9es dans un ensemble coh\u00e9rent, de sorte que l\u2019Afrique entende la voix de Dieu d\u2019une perspective holistique et non d\u2019une cat\u00e9gorie sp\u00e9cifique. C\u2019est particuli\u00e8rement difficile \u00e0 r\u00e9ussir mais notre objectif \u00e9tait d\u2019\u00eatre holistique, en cherchant une \u00ab\u00a0orthodoxie biblique historique\u00a0\u00bb. Nous pourrions dire que nous voulions trouver un tronc commun de l\u2019orthodoxie proclam\u00e9 par Thomas Oden, par exemple dans ses travaux r\u00e9cents sur l\u2019Afrique et les P\u00e8res de l\u2019\u00c9glise, et dans sa biographie. 2<\/p>\n<h4>Quels sont les sujets trait\u00e9s qui ne le sont pas souvent dans les Bibles d\u2019\u00e9tude\u00a0? J\u2019ai remarqu\u00e9 des articles sur les tribus, les anc\u00eatres, la sorcellerie et la divination, le leadership en Afrique, la diaspora africaine, les similitudes entre les mondes culturels de la Bible et de l\u2019Afrique, les missions en tant qu\u2019Africains, les racines africaines du christianisme, l\u2019\u00e9thique chr\u00e9tienne africaine, la polygamie, la lecture et l\u2019application de la Bible dans l\u2019Afrique de nos jours et la mani\u00e8re dont l\u2019Afrique a contribu\u00e9 au christianisme, entre\u00a0autres.<\/h4>\n<p>C\u2019est vrai, les sujets trait\u00e9s dans nos articles et notes d\u2019apprentissage sont ressortis de notre discussion initiale en 2011. En plus de ces sujets, nous avons aussi abord\u00e9 la question des veuves et des orphelins, de l\u2019esclavage, de la souffrance, de l\u2019argent et des possessions, de la parentalit\u00e9, du mariage, des sectes, de la terre et du travail, de la politique, de la sorcellerie et des accusations de sorcellerie, etc. Toutes ces questions choisies l\u2019ont \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s intentionnellement en raison des besoins sp\u00e9cifiques de l\u2019\u00c9glise en Afrique. Y a-t-il eu des livres de la Bible qui ont pris vie en les lisant avec une perspective africaine\u00a0? Voici un bon exemple\u00a0: les nations en Afrique ont \u00e9t\u00e9 divis\u00e9es par les Europ\u00e9ens, pas forc\u00e9ment selon les crit\u00e8res tribales et ethniques traditionnels. En cons\u00e9quence, les int\u00e9r\u00eats ethniques diff\u00e9rents au sein d\u2019une nation ont provoqu\u00e9 la guerre, la pauvret\u00e9 et des \u00e9preuves terribles. A pr\u00e9sent, prenez le livre de Josu\u00e9 et pensez \u00e0 la vie en tant que douze tribus au sein d\u2019une nation. C\u2019est la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 que les nations d\u2019Afrique vivent aujourd\u2019hui. Les Africains peuvent aider \u00e0 transmettre \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9glise ce que Josu\u00e9 veut dire \u00e0 des nations constitu\u00e9es de tribus qui d\u00e9tiennent chacune des terres tribales traditionnelles.<\/p>\n<p>Moi, John, je n\u2019ai pu trouver un livre qui ne fasse pas de lien direct avec ma vie en tant qu\u2019Africain. Chaque livre de la Bible parle d\u2019une ou de plusieurs questions africaines\u200a\u2014\u200acela va de la famille en Gen\u00e8se \u00e0 l\u2019esp\u00e9rance du chr\u00e9tien souffrant dans Apocalypse, Dieu nous a parl\u00e9 en Afrique. Ce n\u2019est pas le livre, mais la lecture du livre dans notre propre contexte qui cr\u00e9e le lien.<\/p>\n<h4>Quel est l\u2019aspect le plus difficile dans la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019une Bible d\u2019\u00e9tude africaine\u00a0?<\/h4>\n<p>La coordination de toutes ces parties mouvantes de la <em>Africa Study Bible<\/em> a \u00e9t\u00e9 un processus d\u2019apprentissage. Nos plus de 350 auteurs ont travaill\u00e9 dans des conditions difficiles, souvent avec un acc\u00e8s limit\u00e9 \u00e0 une technologie internet bonne et r\u00e9cente. Dans la plupart des cas, ils croulent d\u00e9j\u00e0 sous tant de responsabilit\u00e9s en tant que leaders dans leur pays. Ces r\u00e9alit\u00e9s d\u2019Afrique rendent souvent les t\u00e2ches simples plus difficiles. Par ailleurs, le travail avec une grande \u00e9quipe vari\u00e9e a ralenti le processus et a rendu le contr\u00f4le qualit\u00e9 plus difficile. La plupart des auteurs n\u2019avaient jamais \u00e9crit pour un projet de cette nature, donc un coaching et des r\u00e9visions importantes s\u2019av\u00e9raient souvent n\u00e9cessaires.<\/p>\n<p>Nous avons sous-estim\u00e9 les exigences de ce genre d\u2019interaction. Pourtant, en particulier dans les domaines de faiblesse, nous avons vu Dieu pourvoir parfaitement. Lorsque nous sommes faibles, il est fort.<\/p>\n<h4>En cr\u00e9ant la Africa Study Bible, auriez-vous souhait\u00e9 que le projet puisse aller plus loin en changeant les normes des Bibles d\u2019\u00e9tude\u00a0?<\/h4>\n<p>Si nous savions en 2011 ce que nous faisons maintenant, nous aurions fait certaines choses diff\u00e9remment. Oui\u00a0! Cependant dans l\u2019ensemble, l\u2019histoire de la <em>Africa Study Bible<\/em> est une histoire de Dieu qui rend nos sentiers droits et qui comble nos faiblesses et notre manque de connaissance.<\/p>\n<p>Notre d\u00e9sir est qu\u2019une herm\u00e9neutique int\u00e9gr\u00e9e \u00e9merge de la <em>Africa Study Bible<\/em>. Que cette herm\u00e9neutique int\u00e9gr\u00e9e permette aux gens d\u2019avoir une approche du texte en partant d\u2019un cadre moins partial, sans forcer le texte de rentrer dans notre propre cadre. C\u2019\u00e9tait l\u2019un de mes (\u00e0 moi, John) plus grands d\u00e9fis\u200a\u2014\u200ales auteurs forcent des portions des \u00c9critures pour se conformer \u00e0 leurs propres cadres d\u2019interpr\u00e9tation m\u00eame quand c\u2019est clairement absent du texte. Donc, \u00e0 la fois les Occidentaux dans les Bibles d\u2019\u00e9tudes occidentales et les Africains, ont besoin d\u2019apprendre \u00e0 lire la Bible de mani\u00e8re \u00e0 ce qu\u2019elle influence la culture, mais que notre propre culture ne soit pas le cadre de l\u2019interpr\u00e9tation. Si nous sommes un bon exemple en cela, j\u2019en serai heureux.<\/p>\n<h4>Que voudriez-vous voir se passer dans la vie de ceux qui utilisent la Africa Study Bible, en particulier les \u00e9tudiants\u00a0?<\/h4>\n<p>Nous esp\u00e9rons voir des disciples de J\u00e9sus en Afrique cro\u00eetre pour comprendre v\u00e9ritablement comment mettre en application la Bible dans leur vie quotidienne. Nous esp\u00e9rons aussi que les chr\u00e9tiens dans le monde comprendront mieux la Bible parce que la sagesse et la perspective africaines les rapprochent de la v\u00e9rit\u00e9 de Dieu. Les leaders de l\u2019IFES faisaient partie de l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ment central de notre \u00e9quipe \u00e9ditoriale. Et ce sont de merveilleux \u00e9tudiants de la Parole de Dieu.<\/p>\n<p>Donc tout d\u2019abord, un grand merci\u00a0! Un proverbe courant en Afrique dit \u00ab\u00a0quand les anciens parlent, les dieux ont parl\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb. Nous esp\u00e9rons que les jeunes d\u2019Afrique appr\u00e9cieront la voix de Dieu dans la sagesse riche des anciens africains. Cette sagesse a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9colt\u00e9e pour eux et leur a \u00e9t\u00e9 transmise dans la Bible. Beaucoup ont grandi sans le b\u00e9n\u00e9fice de la sagesse des anciens d\u2019Afrique. Notre espoir est qu\u2019ils soient \u00e0 leur \u00e9coute alors qu\u2019ils partagent leurs exp\u00e9riences de ce que Dieu a fait pour eux \u00e0 travers les r\u00e9cits et les proverbes.
