{"id":165,"date":"2019-04-15T10:53:55","date_gmt":"2019-04-15T10:53:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ifesworld.org\/?page_id=165"},"modified":"2024-04-25T21:28:12","modified_gmt":"2024-04-25T20:28:12","slug":"beliefs","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/ifesworld.org\/en\/beliefs\/","title":{"rendered":"What we believe"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block block-core-paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The doctrinal basis of IFES shall be the fundamental truths of Christianity, including:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-list\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><div class=\"wp-block block-core-list-item\">\n<li>The unity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in the Godhead.<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-list-item\">\n<li>The sovereignty of God in creation, revelation, redemption and final judgement.<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-list-item\">\n<li>The divine inspiration and entire trustworthiness of Holy Scripture, as originally given, and its supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-list-item\">\n<li>The universal sinfulness and guilt of all people since the fall, rendering them subject to God&#8217;s wrath and condemnation.<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-list-item\">\n<li>Redemption from the guilt, penalty, dominion and pollution of sin, solely through the sacrificial death (as our representative and substitute) of the Lord Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God.<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-list-item\">\n<li>The bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ from the dead and his ascension to the right hand of God the Father.<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-list-item\">\n<li>The presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the work of regeneration.<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-list-item\">\n<li>The justification of the sinner by the grace of God through faith alone.<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-list-item\">\n<li>The indwelling and work of the Holy Spirit in the believer.<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-list-item\">\n<li>The one holy universal Church which is the body of Christ and to which all true believers belong.<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-list-item\">\n<li>The expectation of the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.<\/li>\n<\/div><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-heading\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">OUR CORE VALUES<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As we work together across the IFES fellowship towards our vision, we seek to live out these core<br>values in every aspect of our ministry.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-list\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><div class=\"wp-block block-core-list-item\">\n<li><strong>Faithfulness to Scripture: <\/strong>The Bible is the ultimate authority and inspiration for life and all<br>aspects of our ministry. We emphasise the loving, studying, living and sharing of God\u2019s Word.<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-list-item\">\n<li><strong>Prayer: <\/strong>We pursue and maintain a posture of humility and dependence on God through<br>prayer in our ministry.<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-list-item\">\n<li><strong>Community:<\/strong> We seek to cultivate vibrant local, regional and global communities that<br>encourage fellowship and learning and enhance our mission.<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-list-item\">\n<li><strong>Student Initiative:<\/strong> We are a ministry of students reaching students and we believe in students<br>taking the initiative in all aspects of witness to the university.<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-list-item\">\n<li><strong>Unity in Diversity: <\/strong>We value the diversity of God\u2019s creation and the body of Christ. We draw<br>participants from diverse ethnicities, cultures, languages, and church traditions as a worldwide<br>fellowship.<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-list-item\">\n<li><strong>Partnership: <\/strong>We believe we are more effective in our work when it is done together.
