the platform of the Francophone IFES movements

30 French-speaking movements, one language, one partnership

Following the World Assembly 2003, the French-speaking IFES movements decided to create a platform in order to encourage partnership between them. Apart from sharing the same language, the IFES Francophone movements have other things in common: the concept of 'laïcité' – a very specific form of secularisation – a specific approach to evangelism, a Catholic or post-Catholic context, a philosophical reflection and post-modernism.

The aim of the platform is to achieve more together than each one in their own corner doing their own thing, in particular in terms of training and evangelism. The idea is to share ideas and resources that take into account our Francophone specificities; to encourage partnerships and to work in geographical poles (Francophone Africa and MENA; Québec and the French Caribbean; European countries – Belgium, Switzerland and France); to exchange regular news, etc.

Since its' creation, a working group of the platform meets every year to discuss how the different projects are moving forward and to talk about the more specific questions in depth.
