georgia: dark days
In the midst of the military action in Georgia and its autonomous regions, please pray especially for students as they face much uncertainty. Their education has now been interrupted.
A Georgian friend of ours writes: 'Many people died because hospitals, universities and private houses were bombed. It is the darkest days in our lives. The whole nation is in shock. We can not believe what is going on around us, it is like a nightmare. The situation is still very uncertain. We don't judge who is right and who is wrong. We are crying together with mothers who lost their sons and daughters these days.
'A friend's home not far from the bombings was entirely destroyed. The village has been completely erased. We thank God because our friend and her family were saved by God's grace. Please join us in praying for all the families who are grieving the loss of loved ones, for God's comfort through his Holy Spirit. Pray too for Christian students in the country and especially in the most affected area'.
Pray that Christian students will not despair but that they will find rest in God and will trust him as their 'rock and salvation' (Psalm 62:6). Please pray for wisdom for the authorities, for political stability and ethnic reconciliation among the people.
