what are RSS feeds?
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, and RSS news feeds allow you to stay up to date with the latest news and features you want from IFES. You can get the latest news as soon as it is published, without having to visit the website.
how do I use them?
The first thing you need is a news reader. This will automatically check the website and download content so you can see what is new since you last visited the feed. There are many kinds of news readers: through your web browser (such as Internet Explorer), ones you can download onto your computer, and web-based readers.
Once you have a news reader, you need to decide what content you want to receive, e.g. by choosing one of the IFES feeds here, identified by the orange RSS button ( ).
If you are using the latest versions of Internet Explorer or Firefox, you can easily subscribe to feeds by clicking on the orange RSS button next to the feed of your choice and following the onscreen instructions.
Other news readers will have their instructions in the help files. Often you can subscribe to a feed by dragging the orange RSS button into the news reader or pasting the web address of the feed into the news reader.
