Christianity Explored in Lithuania
Pray for LKSB Lithuania as they prepare to launch Christianity Explored courses in three different groups across the country. Students from all groups got together last weekend for a time of training and familiarising with the material. On Friday students in Vilnius met for further discussion and strategy planning.
Stepas Ribokas, General Secretary, shares his vision with us: ‘It’s an on-going challenge to help students grow in confidence in the gospel, especially in Lithuania where evangelicals are such a minority. It’s a challenge to approach people directly with the gospel… Christianity Explored gives them a tool to speak to people, through watching DVD and discussions. Students will see how simply they can explain the gospel, with understandable words.
‘A big part of the work is praying and inviting other students. Already students are praying, and we think of starting in October. So they have four weeks to invite other students!’
A new semester in Taiwan
Pray for new students joining CEF Taiwan groups. At the beginning of the new semester, may God's mercy guide more students to come to know him, and give his wisdom and strength to the student teams and school fellowship counsellors as they endeavour to help students live under God’s guidance, be brave witnesses in campuses and high schools and be a blessing to the world.
Pray also for the CEF staff who will begin to plan for next year in October. A staff worker there shares: ‘We seek God's will and want to make plans with God's guidance in order to renew the student ministry of CEF Taiwan.’
Time to dream for Brazilian high school students
Pray for ABS Sao Paolo, the high school branch of ABUB Brazil, as they meet this weekend for a time of teaching and training (7-9 September). The theme of the weekend is “Time to Dream”. Pray for these young people as they look at the book of 2 Timothy, identify the current challenges they are facing and discuss how to best do evangelism.
May God give them big dreams for their schools and classmates! Pray for them to return home having learnt new things, that they will be encouraged to be active witnesses in their schools and society.
