Student comes to faith in Banja Luka, Bosnia
‘We met M at our summer project with the InterVarsity/USA team in Banja Luka last year,’ writes Enisa Dedic, General Secretary of EUSFBiH Bosnia-Herzegovina. ‘She attended the English classes and then came to our camp. She was very open and excited about the bible studies we had at camp. Our staff worker Irena started to study the bible with her on weekly basis.
‘Last week, M told Irena she wanted to give her life to Jesus, so they prayed together. Our Lord is awesome, isn’t he? Please pray for Irena and M as they continue to dig into the word, that the Lord will reveal himself more and more to M.
‘K is another student who attended the summer project and camp last year and comes to our regular bible studies. Also, M brought a friend to this study and he loves spending time with staff workers David and Irena. Please pray for these two young men to be more open to the Lord and to give their lives to Him.’
Give thanks for M and pray that as she grows in her new-found faith she will have boldness and courage to witness to other students around her. Pray to for David, Irena and Enisa, and for God to provide new workers for one city where currently there are no staff.
Student initiative blooming in Nicaragua
In April, Daniel, Maria, Luis B, Keyla, Luis M, Jefri and Denisse, student leaders of CECNIC Nicaragua, held their first meeting as coordinators of the movement. The atmosphere of friendship and fellowship created a great opportunity to talk together. They focused especially on developing a series of activities for bringing to life the strategic priorities of the Living Stones vision – communicating the good news of Jesus Christ, strengthening training for greater impact on the university, and so on.
Pray for God to guide and give them wisdom through his word and Spirit as CECNIC implements these strategies on campuses over the next few months. Pray also as they plan their next meeting for 30 June.
A growing staff team to reach more students
We just received this news from a staff worker in a country in Eurasia:
‘From the beginning of May we have a part-time intern! She is one of our student leaders and is now in the final year of her Master’s programme. Please pray for her that this internship year will be a blessing. Pray also that the Lord will show her and us whether he wants her to join our full-time staff team after the internship.’
Praise God for this new addition to the team, and pray for her, the other 11 student volunteers and two full-time staff workers – ‘for the Lord’s guidance, wisdom, protection, boldness and unity.’
Pray also for the team as they prepare for a retreat at the end of June, that all will be able to attend. Pray for God to guide them in their planning for the next semester and for the choice of two new student leaders.
‘Pray also for those students and young people who come to our programs and bible studies,’ writes another staff worker, ‘that they would commit their lives to Jesus, grow in faith, and stand strong amidst the pressure from their peers, families and society.’
