Making connections in Cameroon
A festival is currently taking place in the town of Ngoun, Cameroon (2-9 December) which attracts lots of students. Hubert Djelar, GBEEC member, shares: ‘GBEEC Foumban is using this opportunity to make the most of the festival and reach out to students. We began with evangelism training then set aside a day and night to pray for young people before the outreach.’
‘We want to see the redemptive work of Christ in our campuses.’ Pray for students who were approached at the Ngoun festival and who heard the good news – for God’s redemptive work to begin in their lives and for good connections with GBEEC.
Celebrating 55 years of ministry in Hong Kong
Praise God for a successful 55th anniversary ceremony of FES Hong Kong (18 November). Praise God for the many who have devoted their lives to serving God through FES and for the hundreds of lives that were transformed over the last half century or so! Pray as FES continues to reflect and celebrate, and for wisdom and guidance for the future. May the Lord continue to raise up a generation of committed leaders and supporters who together will impact Hong Kong society and universities in the name of Christ.
Welcoming new staff in Israel
We rejoice with our brothers and sisters of FCSI Israel for a new addition to their staff team: ‘Praise God for his providence! Rasha, a new staff worker among the Arab students, just joined us. We pray for good team work. She already started to disciple students and we are thrilled.’ May the Lord accompany Rasha and use her powerfully in the lives of those students.
Training leaders and moving forward
More than 80 young staff recently participated in a training event introducing them to student ministry in a country in East Asia. The leader of a local group said: ‘We have been doing student ministry for almost four years, but we are hitting a wall and don’t know what to do next. After this training, we can see how to overcome our shortcomings, and now have a sense of direction for our ministry. A case study practice session really helped us to move forward. Praise the Lord!
