Fulfilling the great commission
Pray for ICMB Botswana as they host their national missions conference this weekend (30 November – 2 December). Around 135 students will be attending this year to reflect on ‘fulfilling the great commission’.
Let us pray with Otlaadisa ‘Jacob’ Ramothudi, ICMB staffworker, ‘… that at the end of the conference students would have caught the fire for evangelism and will go on witnessing and reaching out to their friends in their institutions. We also wish they can regularly encourage other members and witness to their communities. That’s what we are praying to God.’
Training Guadeloupian student leaders
Pray for GBU Guadeloupe as they make preparations for their next training day (8 December), a day set aside to help give students the tools they need to lead and manage their small groups.
Pray especially for the newly appointed student committee as they attend, that they would grow in wisdom and knowledge and for the Holy Spirit to guide them in their decision-making. May they never be lacking in zeal, but keep their spiritual fervor as they serve the Lord. (Romans 12:11).
Think, evaluate, speak.
In October this year LKSB Latvia launched a new trial project called ‘The COURSE’ (‘KURSS’ in Latvian). Put together by students and graduates, the aim is to create a place where students can meet other students from different walks of life, world views and values and think together about current issues.
‘We currently meet once a week in Riga, Liepaja and Jelgava,’ shares LKSB staffworker Kristīne Ozoliņa, ‘then next year we want to start in other universities.’ The preparation of the material will continue till the end of 2012, after which they hope to present the material to student groups. You can find out more on the LKSB website.
